Don't use "I want YOU to ～" ... Why???

There are lot's of Japanese who use "I want YOU to ～"
But did you know we shouldn't use "I want YOU to ～",
because this means "you are ordering the person to do somethings",
It's not a request ! It's an order!!
Instead of using "I want YOU to ～"; it's better to USE
●Can you ～
●Could you ～
This way you can sound softer and polite.
